Willamette Family's New Website

Willamette Family has had our current website, www.wfts.org, for many years and it has served us well. It is a basic web design, initially set-up many years ago by our Publications Coordinator, Rob Robertson. Rob has been with Willamette Family for over 12 years, utilizing his excellent writing and editorial skills to assist in numerous writing projects for the agency, including grants, brochures, booklets, fundraising materials,  annual reports, and more.

Rob is also the editor of our newsletter, the Willamette Family News, and although not trained as a professional graphic designer, he has learned the basics of both desktop publishing and web design with the help of some of the amazing software products on the market. As a result, we have had a very useful and informative website through Rob's ongoing efforts.

The time has now come, however,  to upgrade the website, making it much more professional in appearance and functionality. We are able to do this through the generosity and support of one of Eugene's premier web design firms, Global Focus Digital Media. Dean Grabski and Tom Burton are co-owners of Global Focus and their portfolio is both extensive and impressive, as their work is outstanding.  Both Tom and Dean have taken a genuine interest in all that we do at Willamette Family and have graciously donated their time, energy, and talent to design a new site for us, as well as host the site on their own web servers. They are doing this solely because they both appreciate the work Willamette Family does in the community - saving lives, restoring families, and making Eugene and surrounding communities a better place to live and raise our families. You can view the Global Focus portfolio at:

                    http://www.globalfocusdm.com/

Rob will be working closely with Global Focus as they develop the website so Willamette Family maintains complete access and control over the content of each page. We will be able to edit text and photos as needed, keeping the site current and up to date, on an in-house basis.

The website will offer many new features compared to what is currently available, although much of the information will also remain the same, as it is pertinent to the agency's main mission and functions. We will have new sections for Career Opportunities, Training Calendars, Newsroom (information for the media),  access to Newsletter articles and Archives, Staff (contact information), Announcements, and more. As most websites develop, they evolve and grow, and we anticipate much the same at Willamette Family, as new ideas and suggestions are presented.

We look forward to an attractive, user friendly site that is easy to navigate and provides the information needed to help those in need of our services. Willamette Family has been serving Eugene and surrounding communities for over 40 years, and as we grow and expand our services, our new website will evolve to assist us in better serving the community.

We hope to have the site up and running in the near future. However, there is much planning and work involved in developing the site, and both Tom and Dean at Global Focus are very busy, while still finding time to work us into their schedule. So be certain to bookmark www.wfts.org and check back often.  We're all excited about our brand new look and will welcome your comments and suggestions once the new site is launched.

Treatment by qualified professionals does work, and at Willamette Family we continue "Strengthening Our Community One Family at a Time."
